This document contains instructions for three math problems involving products, as well as guidelines for designing a pop can experiment to produce the most spins and a report outline on a rocket activity. Students are asked to find the products of (2m + 6n)2 and (8x + 4)(5x2 + 5x + 5), design test cans that vary hole size, number and placement, and write a report discussing their original hypothesis, experiment details and results, changes made to the final rocket, and potential future design changes.

– Size of holes
– Number of holes

3. Rocket Report
Write a 1-page (minimum) report based on your experience
with the rocket activity. Discuss each of the following areas:
• What was your original hypothesis, and what led you to
believe it was true?
• Describe your experiment in detail. Discuss results and
report your data findings.
• Describe the changes you made for your final rocket. Why
did you make the changes?
• Describe the results from your final competition rocket.
Did it perform better or worse than your experimental
rockets?
• If you could design another rocket, what changes would
you make and why?
