Development
The location of Macau
Brief Introduction of Macau
? Macau is one of the two Special Administrative Region
of the People Republic of China.
? Macau was used to be the colony of Portugal.
? It was returned to the Peoples Republic of China in 1999.
? Macau has the second highest life expectancy in the
world.
? Since the liberalization of the gaming industry in 1962,
Macaus economy is heavily dependent on gambling
and tourism, and becoming a world leisure and
recreation hub.
Government funding agencies
? The objectives of the FDCT is to correspond with the
aims of technology strategy in the Macau.
? provide funding for science related education, research
and project development.
? the FDCT had subsidized nearly 3,000,000 USD in the
first half year of 2013.
Government funding agencies
? The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, which is
a government department.
? The DSEJ manages Macaus compulsory
education and youth issues.
? Provide financial aid to schools to equip
implements
? Subsidize fund for schools to participate the
international competitions.
The Macau Science Center
? The Macau Science Center was established
in 2009.
? The center is divided in to three parts:
? The exhibition center
? The planetarium
? The convention center
The mission of the Macau Science Center is to:
? Promote science popularization and education
among local adolescents.
? Establish a new landmark to complement
tourism development in Macau.
? Provide a regional platform for science
education, convention and exhibition.
One of the biggest robotic
competition held in the Macau
Science Center is the Interschool
Robotic Competition.
It was held annually in April and 15
schools were participated in this
magnificent competition.
Also the government had conducted
a series of friendly matches with
nearby region such as the Main Land
China and Hong Kong.
Facilities & Competitions
? Macau began to participate in RoboCup Junior in 2003.
? In particular, Macau robot team has won the 1st place of RCJ soccer
for several years.
? Macau has now become one of the leaders of robotics
development in the world.
PCMS Robotic Education
Development
Pui Ching Middle School (PCMS)
? Established in: 1889
? Premises distribution : Guangzhou, Macau, Hong Kong
? School Motto: Utmost Goodness, Utmost Righteousness ~
based on Christian Bible, Deuteronomy 12:28
? PCMS is a non-profit private
Christian school in Macau,
consisting of kindergarten,
primary and secondary
sections all in one campus.

Laser Engraver
We can use the laser
engraver to engrave
some card-shape
materials such as the
acrylic sheet and wood
board.
These products can use
to make the frame of the
Robots and some DIY
tools such as
manipulators.
CNC
This five-axis CNC is for us to carve the
metal and making some specific metal
parts such as screws and screw nuts.
In addition, we can use the CnC to
make some metal or plastic containers
to store the metal parts.
Also we got an automatic lathe to carve
the metal according to different spares
and functions.
3D Printer
This 3D printer was just bought at the
beginning of this academic year.
It can make any accessories and parts
according to any function we want to
make.

Our Aim
Develop every teammates potential
To publicize the importance
of marine ecology
Hello
world!
ROV: Eagle Ray
Frame
Protective bar
Thrusters
Floats
Manipulators
Thrusters Manipulator
There are six thrusters mounted
on the ROV:
Vertical Thrusters x2
Horizontal Thrusters x4
So that it can implement 360
movements and panning.
Also there are two manipulators
added on the ROV, one placed on the
upper-right and the other place on
the lower-left to let the ROV master
any kinds of missions.
Temperature sensor
Camera
On the other hand, we added
four cameras on the ROV. Two
cameras in the front, and other
two observing the environment
around the ROV.
Since the mission of the
competition requires us to check
the temperature under the water,
we add a temperature sensor to
detect the temperature.
ROVs Core
? For the electrical part, the
system is separated into two
parts, the main ROVs core and
the onboard control system.
? In order to let the signal can
transport quickly and stably
between the two system, we use
a optic-fiber to connect the two
of them.
? For the programming part, we
use Arduino as our
programming software.
? We also use PS2 gamepad as
the controller.

Science & Marine
Researches
In the future, we will continue to engage in
science and marine project such as:
? Water equality examination
? Mineral contained in the riverbed of Pearl
River near Macau
? Pollution index of the marine system near
Macau
Promote the Robotic Education and
Marine Protection
Lastly, we will present to other students not only
the technology of ROV, but also to promote the
idea of protecting the marine resources.
THANK YOU
