Rapid Product Development Group introduces a new Rapid Injection Tooling (RIT) process that can produce complex injection molded parts in just 5-11 days, much faster than traditional methods. The RIT process accommodates undercuts, complex features, and various surface finishes to produce high-quality parts from a range of materials. Tony Moran, CEO of Rapid Product Development Group, comments that the RIT process eliminates many limitations of other rapid tooling methods by allowing parts to be made exactly as designed. The company has been beta testing RIT for two years and customers have used it for prototypes, short runs, and production parts.

RIT can accommodate undercuts (internal and external), complex details and features, and polished or textured surface finishes producing production quality injection molded parts. A wide variety of thermoplastic and engineering plastic resins are available including glass-filled and high temp materials. Mold materials including aluminum and steel are used for RIT construction, yielding tool lifes from 1,000 to 100,000 shots. Over-molding and insert molding are also available via RIT.
