- 6. Rails Girls を日本で開催したいと思った理由 世界各地で Rails Girls ワークショップが 開催されるようになってきていて、 日本でも開催したいと思っていました。 Rails Girls の Linda が日本にやってくると聞き、 この機会に是非と思い、開催に至りました。
- 7. その他なんでも！ 当時は何もありませんでしたし、Rails Girls って何？という状態でした。 まず、日本語版の website、テキストを作ることから始めました。 さらに、スポンサーを集めて参加者の費用を無料にするスタイルを取り入れ、 ワークショップの段取りを GitHub issue として進めていく方法を確立するなど、 これまでになかった、革新的な（？）アイディアを駆使して開催に至りました。 ただ、お金はあったけれど手が回らなくてお弁当を用意できなかったとか、website にバグが あったとか、いろいろ問題がありのスタートでした。 その後、大勢の人が関わってくれるようになって、開催回数、地域が増えて大きく成長してくれ ているのを見ると、大変だったけれど始めてよかったと思っています。 絶対に２回目を開催して、と万葉さんに押しつけて渡米してしまったのですが、実際に２回目を 開催してくれた万葉さんには本当に感謝しています。２回目があったからこそ、今の成長に至っ たと思います。また、金銭面のあれこれを処理するために手を差し伸べてくれた日本 Ruby の 会にも感謝しています。これからも活動を続けてください。
- 8. 1st でコーチとして参加。これは続けるべきイベントで、 必要としている人が必ずいると思ったから Rails Girls と関わることで、全国の女性エンジニアと お話しができたり、協力してくれる Ruby コミュニティの 存在を感じたり、ずっと元気をもらっています。 リンダの絵本の翻訳もできました。嬉しいことばかりです。 オーガナイザーをやろうとしたきっかけ その他なんでも！
- 9. Tokyu.rb の帰り道に mrkn さんと、nari3 に 「Rails Girls やってみない？」と声をかけられて Rails Girls やっていて、気づいたら Ruby Prize 2019 にノミネートされました ! 嬉しい !!! オーガナイザーをやろうとしたきっかけ その他なんでも！
