This document discusses representing the dynamics of online communities through actions using the SIOC vocabulary. It provides background on the evolution of the web from static pages to user-generated content and social interactions. It then introduces the SIOC and Event ontologies, and proposes the SIOC-actions vocabulary to represent user actions and their objects. Examples are given of how actions can be linked to external datasets to provide additional context. The talk concludes that representing actions as linked data enables new applications to leverage the potential of an action-based social web.
