Samsung has provided an update on the recall of six top-loading washing machine models initiated in 2013, stating that 84% of affected machines have now been repaired, replaced, or retrieved. A total of 331 cases of issues have been confirmed, and around 22,000 affected machines have yet to be addressed. Samsung encourages customers to check if their top-loading Samsung washer is affected and to contact Samsung for repair or refund if so.

Samsung Australia has provided an update on the washing
machine recall it firstinitiated in April 2013.
Over 84% of the six top loader washing machine models
affected by the recall have now been reworked, replaced or
retrieved for a refund.
Samsung said that, when an affected machine is operated in
certain circumstances, there is a chance that moisture may
penetrate the electrical connectors of the affected machines,
which can cause a fire hazard.
A total of 331 recall cases with confirmed issues have been
identifiedby Samsung to date. According to Samsungs data,
there are still about 22,000 affected washing machines that
have not been reworked, replaced or retrieved.
In a statement, the company said it continues to encourage
customers to check the model details of their top loader
Samsung washing machine, to determine if their model is
impacted by the product safety recall.

Samsung is urging customers who may be impacted by the

the product safety hotline on 1800 239 655.
