Sarah Ulmer retired from cycling at age 31 in 2007 due to a lingering leg injury. She achieved her best success winning the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, where she broke the world record in the process. Her hobbies outside of cycling included learning French, and she enjoyed McDonald's salads, the song "The Gambler," and the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral.
