This case study discusses difficulties faced by users of Survodaya Pvt Ltd gas stoves in Gujarat, India. Key issues included stove supporters not fitting local utensils, burners only producing side flames, stoves going out if food boiled over, and frequent match use. Additionally, some people feared gas was flammable, poisonous, or against religious beliefs. Often the gas ran out mid-cooking as there was no indicator of remaining supply. Proposed solutions involved modifying supporters, improving burners, designing lighters, adding transparent windows or reserve cylinders to show gas levels, and expanding delivery infrastructure.
