Sasol Mining Pty Ltd hired Murrob Construction to conduct an opencast coal mining project in Lephalale, Limpopo from July 2009 to June 2010 with a value of R134 million. The project involved selectively mining a 1.5 million cubic meter bulk coal sample to a depth of 96 meters, moving 1.5 million cubic meters of topsoil and overburden, and extracting 996,000 tons of coal that was crushed to less than 200mm.
