The SAT is a standardized test that offers colleges a common evaluation structure to grade and select applicants, based on their scholastic aptitude. The SAT duration is 3 hours and 45 minutes long and is a pencil and paper type of exam. The SAT consists of three major sections: Writing, Critical reading and Mathematics. The assessment typically takes about four hours to get done with. The sections are filled with multiple choice questions as well as an essay. These sections are scored individually on a scale of 200 to 800.
