SATeacher was founded in 2003 by Dreyer L旦tter and Liezel Blom to develop teaching resources and provide professional development for teachers in South Africa. It has since published over 581 titles and trained more than 30,000 educators. All resources are designed based on best international practices and are aligned with the South African curriculum. SATeacher continues to expand its offerings to include eBooks, online courses, and interactive classroom technology solutions.

- 2. Dreyer L旦tter and Liezel Blom, started SATeacher in 2003, to focus on the professional development of teachers in South Africa. Through the development of teachers, the need arose to develop structured teaching plans and resources, based on the South African Curriculum. To date, SATeacher has developed and published 581 titles and the materials are used in every school in South Africa. SATeacher has trained more than 30 000 educators and officials, from the most rural schools to the most sophisticated private schools in South Africa. The hands-on and practical approach makes them the most sought after facilitators in South Africa. All techniques and methodology shared during sessions and used in the development of resources, are based on best practices that were internationally researched. They are practical, easy to apply and make a difference in the understanding of Mathematics by teachers and learners alike. Dreyer L旦tter and Liezel Blom also founded Cytocento, which was appointed by the Gauteng Educational Trust as part of the GPLMS Project with 225 school and almost 900 teachers during 2013. Cytocento was appointed by the Gauteng Educational Trust to develop the Mathematic Lesson Plans for the GPLMS Project for both the Foundation and Intermediate Phases for 2012 and 2013. SATeacher is also involved in developing resource packs for the Robben Island Museum and PAMSA (Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa) in line with the National Curriculum (CAPS), similar to the resource pack that was developed for Maropeng - Cradle of Humankind. Both Liezel Blom and Dreyer L旦tter were appointed by the Ministry of Education for the development of the Mathematics DBE Learner Books. They are involved in the writing of the Mathematics Learner Books and Teacher Guides for Grades 1 to 9 and are also aligning these Learner Books with the CAPS. Printed Resources Printed Resources All SATeacher resources/books are printed in full colour. Books are bound by hand, using the perfect bind method (hot glue). The full colour Workbooks are especially practical for learners and Worksheets can be completed in the Workbook. eResources Interactive eBooks All the popular SATeacher publications are also available in eBook format. These eBooks can be displayed on all platforms and are more than just a textbook behind glass. Readers are able to interact with the publication by placing bookmarks, making notes and underlining or highlighting sections. eResource Integrated Interactive eBooks These eResources offer the same functionalities as the popular SATeacher Interactive eBooks: placing bookmarks, adding notes, underlining and highlighting text. They also offer additional eResources embedded with the text to help the reader to understand the content. The embedded eResources linked to these eBooks vary between simulations, animations, knowledge nuggets, videos, games and assessments. SATeacher has developed a range of independent learning objects that teachers can use in blended learning classrooms. The range varies between animations, simulations, videos, knowledge nuggets, games and assessments. SAeCampus SAeCampus is an integrated Learning Management System (LMS) and a distance learning system. What makes this system so unique, is that it is already populated with the SATeacher Lesson Plans and Assessments for Mathematics. This makes it ideal for both the individual learner to enrol for distance learning and for teachers who want to implement an affordable LMS system, without generating all the content from scratch. Teachers also receive comprehensive training and support. Training SATeacher conducts various training sessions each year, throughout South-Africa. The training sessions vary from sessions developed in-house to provide additional teaching techniques to teachers to custom designed training/workshops requested by clients/schools. - 14. eResources Understanding Mathematics remains the best way of achieving good results, as opposed to memorising Mathematics. When you understand the concepts, you will be able to do and enjoy Mathematics, no matter what assessment is given to you to do. Each lesson starts with a video explaining the concept, followed by a self-marking assessment. After the assessment learners can review their results and then again view a video explaining how to improve their results. - 16. Training Overview We are taking our very well received Multiplication Workshop (Grade 1-7) on a National Road show to 21 Venues nationwide. Multiplication is a very controversial topic as many people feel strongly about how it should be taught. Workshop content and outcomes In this session we are going to show you ways to help learners to build an understanding of the process and properties of multiplication, using the CRA instructional approach (Concrete Representative Abstract) and eLearning techniques. Our main focus will be to teach learners by using a visual model that represents multiplication arrays. Curriculum advisors or schools who are interested in facilitating a session in their district or cluster are welcome to contact us per email at info@sateacher.co.za.
