The Saving Newborn Lives (SNL) program aims to improve health and survival of newborns in developing countries over 10-15 years. It works with governments, communities, and partners to increase access to and quality of high-impact newborn services. SNL also generates evidence on effective, low-cost newborn health interventions and supports countries in developing policies and strategies to scale up newborn care. Key activities include strengthening community health workers to provide counseling and referrals on newborn care before, during, and after birth.

Introduction Save the childrens saving Newborn Lives (SNL) program, supported by the Bill and Melinda foundation is a globally recognized leader in newborn health in many countries including Nepal. Since 2000 SNL has worked to reach the worlds most Vulnerable newborns and help them to survive their first month of life .
Introduction Is a 10-15 years global initiative of save the children to improve the health and survival of newborns in the developing world. the initiative work with government, local communities , and partner agencies at the community and national levels to make progress toward real and lasting change in new born health.
Contd SNL seeks to achieve equitable and effective coverage of high impact newborn services and practices . It works with government and partners to put newborn health to on global and national agenda as a catalyst for action . To accomplish its goal , the SNL program work to develop, apply , document and sustain packages of effective evidence- based new born care services and practices at scale .
In addition, the program advocate To increase availability of an access to routine and emergency newborn care services and supplies To improve the quality of newborn care services and To increase knowledge about and demand for newborn care

Since 2000, SNL has worked to increase awareness about the high burden of preventable newborn deaths. Provide evidence on how to prevent these deaths Support countries to reach the worlds most vulnerable newborns with life saving interventions.
Saving Newborn Lives works closely with governments to develop national strategies and policies to improve the quality and availability of care for newborns. Saving Newborn Lives also is involved in global and regional networks and partnerships, like the Healthy Newborn Network.
Generates evidence around newborn health, supporting programs and research studies evaluating the most affordable, feasible and effective ways to save newborn lives in low- income settings. - Many of the studies evaluate the impact of using existing community health workers to counsel families about newborn care at home and refer them to local health facilities.
