Editor's Notes
#5: The Jobs tab and Life tab is available only for customers who purchase the LinkedIn Careers Page
#11: Personalization is a great way to communicate the right roles to the right candidate, but we know it can be daunting to personalize every experience. LinkedIn balanced personalization with consistent messaging and modules, particularly in telling an authentic story about the brand, culture and values. Heres how they did it:
<Click 1st animation> First, for the hero image, LinkedIn chose to use photography that shows life at work and the people behind the company. Talent is the #1 priority for the company, so the photo they chose represents that photo. Also, the photography style and treatment is consistent with the overall LinkedIn branding. When you think about your hero image or video, think about how it will align with your mission and values, ensure its consistent with the visual tone of your brand.
<Click 2nd animation> Second, they used the custom modules to communicate their employee value prop, specifically company culture and the value of diversity. Every member sees these two modules, so its a consistent message across all potential candidates. The also wrote each module using the same brand voice and tone. Finally, they include links to videos and blog posts that support each EVP.
#12: We did a recent survey asking candidates what they do as they search for a new job. 1 in 4 said that they talk to employees about the job and culture. Nothing is more authentic that hearing straight from the horses mouth what its like to work there. Now, you have the opportunity to curate your employees LinkedIn content and share their perspectives on your Career Page. Heres what LinkedIn did:
<Click 1st animation> First, they made their pages more colorful by selecting photos from their employees and placing them in the company photos section. They chose image that show the culture, employee dynamics and perks/benefits.
<Click 2nd animation> Second, they pulled posts that employees have published on LinkedIn, and selected their favorite to feature on the page. The posts could be about lessons learned on the job, pivotal moments in their career or overall thoughts on their industry or expertise. Position your employees as thought leaders, and you can attract fellow visionary talent.
<Click 3rd animation> Of course, you have to get your employees writing in order to feature their content. Thats why the employer branding team partnered with their internal communications team to encourage employees to share their work life on LinkedIn. They sent emails, made announcement during all-hands telling employees if they want their 15 seconds of fame on the Career Page to email their post to be considered.
