Editor's Notes

  1. The specific information should be helpful to the reader. As an example, accuracy is needed especially in technical write up like manuals or documentations so that the user can successfully assemble or use the product as easily and clear as possible.
  2. On the other hand, technical writing should be precise, does not use flowery words like essays, focus mainly on the subject, concise, and explained in a convincing matter.
  3. In other words, technical write ups must be free from mistakes and errors.
  4. Accuracy is an important characteristic in technical writing. So we really need to take time making our technical write up accurate.
  5. A slight mistake can cause grave consequences. For example, when a manual of an electronic device showed wrong information, users might experience injuries and the company may face lawsuits from people who suffered those injuries. So its really important to be accurate at all times.
  6. Another example is when you forget to mention important features of a new mobile phone, the customers may think that there is nothing special in that phone and will not prefer to buy it.
  7. Spell check is really easy since it is already available anywhere like Microsoft Word. Peers can also see mistakes we may miss. Double check your grammar through peers or online. And of course read the material over and over and over again.
