This paper aims to make a small presentation on the electric braking systems over asynchronous three-phase AC motors. Practice show that stopping a motor and therefore control it is as important as starting it. There is an attempt to record all the braking methods used in industrial area. Advances in semiconductor technology in recent decades have enabled engineers to brake a motor without using any mechanical means as was used in previous decades. We will refer to cutting-edge technologies such a D.T.C (Direct Control System) of the ABB company and flux braking . We present state of art systems like Brake Chopper, Full ccontrolled Bridge , consist of new generation semiconductors like IGBT and thyristors. The aim of this work is to show that new technologies in power electronics can enable green policies in areas that were energy consuming in past years .
