Daniel Irvine presented at DevConf 2018 on secrets of successful mentoring. He explained that traditionally mentoring focuses too much on technical skills transfer rather than an equal partnership. A mentor should not act as a manager but as an equal partner, listening without judgment and providing constructive feedback.
