Global Business Incubation (GBI) is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 to promote business incubation for startups through networking and partnerships between colleges, universities, government and industry. The Semantic Seed program was established in 2008 as a co-working space and idea accelerator to help first-time entrepreneurs struggling to find funding by providing experience, skills and networks to accelerate companies from the idea stage to revenue generation. Semantic Seed operates co-working facilities focused on software, mobile, media and gaming in San Jose, Miami and Sunnyvale that also host weekly meetups, camps and seminars for entrepreneurs and developers.
