This document summarizes the components and functions of a semi jacquard knitting machine. The main cylinder has 39 pegs where the top 3 are fixed and the remaining 36 control individual needles to produce designs in courses of up to 36 wales. Each peg box acts as a feeder to produce a single course. The 38 pegs have left and right sides, and as the cylinder rotates anti-clockwise, the needles are engaged with the pegs on the left side first to knit loops or create misses and tucks based on which pegs are pressed.
