This document defines and provides examples of different types of sentences: - Declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences based on purpose - Simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences based on structure. Declarative sentences make statements, interrogative sentences pose questions, imperative sentences give commands, and exclamatory sentences express strong emotions. Sentence structure can be simple with one clause, compound with two independent clauses, complex with one independent and one dependent clause, or compound-complex with one independent and one dependent clause.
