1) A Hindu sepoy named Dars Singh from the 11th Native Infantry deliberately fired into a rebel artillery ammunition wagon during a battle, causing it to explode and blow up Captain Francis Andrews of the 1/60th Rifles and other British soldiers. 2) The British chaplain acknowledged that the Enfield rifle played a decisive role in the company's victory in this battle. 3) Had the Pakistani Army general Javed Hassan, who promoted the view of India in his book that was popular at the Pakistani Army Staff College, known about Dars Singh's actions, he may have reconsidered launching the ill-fated Kargil conflict against India.
