Serendipitous learning interactions during city visits can provide substantial learning potential outside of formal environments. The document reports on a pilot study that explored how mobile technology could support learning in authentic urban settings through location-based activities, social interaction, real-time documentation and translation services. Key themes that emerged from the study were availability of information, social interaction opportunities, and creating awareness of one's surroundings to encourage serendipitous learning moments during travel.
