Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying its good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation thats least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state theyre comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Receptionist memeriksa registraton card dengan seksama, biasanya
disertai dengan lampiran yang diketik rapi, yang menunjukkan
alokasi kamar
Menyerahan kunci kamar ke tour leader
Tamu dipersilakan masuk kamar masing masing
32. Prosedur Penanganan Check-in Tamu VIP
Check-in untuk tamu penting yang biasa disebut dengan singkatan VIP (Very Important Person) dilakukan sedikit berbeda
dengan check-in yang biasa. Tamu VIP adalah orang yang dianggap penting oleh pihak hotel, antara lain kepala negara,
menteri, pimpinan perusahaan pelanggan, owner hotel. Check-in akan dilakukan secepat mungkin. Bila tamu sudah
melakukan pemesanan sebelumnya maka registration form sudah disiapkan terlebih dahulu. Data diambil dari hasil
koresponden saat pemesanan kamar, atau bisa juga diperoleh dari ajudan tamu tersebut. Biasanya pimpinan pemerintahan
akan mengutus ajudannya terlebih dahulu untuk melakukan pemesanan kamar. Dengan demikian maka tamu hanya akan tanda
tangan saja ketika sampai di counter front desk. Registrasi bisa juga dilakukan di kamar tamu tersebut, jika tamu datang maka
bisa langsung ke kamar, tanpa harus ke counter depan terlebih dahulu.
33. Adapun Urutannya adalah:
Guest card dan key card sudah siap sebelum tamu datang
Mencocokkan nama tamu dengan data di reservasi
Memastikan welcome card dan fruit basket sudah ada di kamar, ada juga hotel yang memberikan coklat atau minuman
(spirit) sebagai amenities untuk VIP
Registrasi dilakukan di kamar dan kartu identitas passpor atau KTP dan ada jaminan dari protocol-nya
Kupon sarapan, dan kupon lain sudah dijadikan satu di guest cad, kemudian GRO diminta untuk mengantar tamu VIP
sampai ke kamar, GRO memberikan guest card kemudian sambil menyebutkan nomor kamarnya
Mengucapkan selamat beristirahat dan magic words
Jika GRO mengantar sampai ke kamar, maka GRO menunjukkan cara membuka pintu dan mempersilakan tamu masuk
terlebih dahulu
Bellboy dan barang antar dan bukakan pintu tamu
Setelah pintu dibuka GRO meletakkan kunci di panel power yang memungkinkan semua electric power terbuka, bisa
menyala dan berfungsi semua mulai dari lampu, TV, jam alarm, radio, AC dan perangkat elektronik lainnya
Bellboy menata barang di luggage rack dengan rapi
GRO menerangkan kegunaan beberapa peralatan, serta fasilitas yang tersedia di kamar.
34. Lanjutan
Memberi kesempatan tamu untu menanyakan yang kurang jelas, dan menawarkan tamu
jika ada hal lain yang perlu di kerjakaan GRO maupun bellboy
GRO kembali ke GRO dek dan mengisi keterangan bahwa tamu sudah check-in
Bellboy kembali ke Concierge counter dan mengisi errand card, setelah selesai
menyerahkannya ke bell captain sebagai laporan bahwa tugas check in telah dilakukanya
Receptionist memastikan bahwa kamar tersebut statusnya sudah berubah dari vacant clean
ke occupied, menyiapkan bill, memberi keterangan tentang special request atau pesan
khusus bagi tamu tersebut ke departemen terkait, misalnya: ada pesan atau surat,
disampaikan ke concierge, meminta tambahan air mineral, disampaikan ke housekeeping,
tamu tidak mau turn down, diberitahukan ke HK, tamu minta menu restoran, diteruskan
ke F&B, pesan limo waktu check-out, pesan disampaikan ke concierge, tamu meminta
wake up call, ditindaklanjuti ke operator, dan seterusnya
Pada hotel non komputer sistem, dilanjutkan mengisi rack slip, jika perlu balancing room
lagi
35. Prosedur Check-out
Beri Salam
Tanyakan nomor kamarnya, dan masukan kedalam computer (PMS)
Identifikasikan dengan menanyakan nama tamu untuk mencocokan kebenarannya
Tanyakan apakah tamu mendapatkan hari yang menyenangkan selama menginap di hotel
Beritahukan ke tamu untuk di periksa fasilitas Mini Bar di kamar
Serahkan salinan bill pengeluaran selama tamu menginap beserta bill pendukungnya; Room Charge, Bar, Restaurant,
Telephone, Mini Bar dan lainnya
Tanyakan ke tamu mengenai pembayarannya, apakah pembayaran Cash, Kartu Kredit dan apabila sudah ditanggung
dengan Guarantee Letter atau Voucher, lihat apa yang tidak ditanggung
KHUSUS PEMBAYARAN CHECK (tergantung dari kebijaksanaan Hotel, apakah menerima pembayaran Check)
Bila menerima
Yakinkan Check di isi dengan benar di Counter
Periksa jumlah uang yang ditulis sama dengan biaya yang dikeluarkan
Periksa tanda ?tangan dan alamat tamu dibelakang Check tersebut
Minta kartu kredit tamu untuk di Card Ver sebagai jaminan dari Check tersebut
Minta Identitas tamu untuk disamakan dengan alamat yang ada di Check tersebut
36. Lanjutan
Cetak invoice dan serahkan ke tamu, bila perlu berikan kartu kredit yang sudah di Card Ver untuk
dicocokkan kembali, apakah tamu akan membayar dengan kartu kredit tersebut atau yang lainnya
Bila pembayaran dengan kartu kredit yang sudah di Card Ver dan biaya pengeluarannya sama atau
dibawah, tinggal melakukan prosedur Off Line, bila pengeluarannya diatas jumlah yang di Card
Ver, lakukan prosedur Off Line sama dengan jumlah yang di Card Ver, sisanya lakukan SALE
dengan kartu kredit si tamu
Bila tamu akan membayar dengan kartu kredit lainnya, lakukan SALE langsung di mesin EDC,
dan kartu kredit lain yang sudah di Card Ver, lakukan langsung prosedur CANCEL pemblokan
dengan cara SALE kartu kredit yang sudah di Card Ver dan langsung VOID di mesin EDC tersebut
sehingga nilai jumlah dana yang sudah terblok akan terbuka kembali dalam waktu 1 sampai 4 jam
Tawarkan untuk membuat reservasi kembali
Berterima kasih ke tamu untuk menginap di hotel kita

Apa yang dimaksud dengan Service quality?
Kualitas pelayanan (Service Quality) adalah segala bentuk aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh

Jasa Laundry di hotel merupakan salah satu pelayanan dari hotel yang memberikan pelayanan
jasa dalam hal pencucian pakaian dengan metode-metode khusus dalam memberikan kepuasan

Layanan pakaian tamu atau dikenal dengan laundry service sangat diperlukan
untuk meningkatkan layanan kepada tamu yang dilakukan oleh Departemen
Laundry.
Struktur Organisasi Departemen Laundry
Beberapa tugas departemen laundry antara lain sebagai berikut.
a. Mencuci semua perlengkapan hotel yang terbuat dari tekstil yang disebut
dengan ( house laundry )
b.Mencuci semua bahan atau pakaian tamu yang dicucikan, baik yang menginap
di hotel maupun dari luar hotel.
Bahan atau pakaian tamu tersebut dikelompokkan ke dalam 4 kelompok berikut

proses pencucian yaitu proses menghilangkan kotoran pada pakaian
sehingga pakaian yang dicuci tampak seperti semula
Proses pencucian dapat dilakukan dengan 2 cara, yaitu Pre-

Prosses pengeringan dilakukan dengan menggunakan mesin drying tumbler
46. Tahap Penyelesaian ( Finishing )
Proses penyetrikaan dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa alat yang
disesuaikan dengan jenis pakaian tamu yaitu Shirt press unit, Tundem
press, Body press, Cotton garment press
Tahap Pengepakan ( Packaging ) dan Pencatatan ( Recording )
Pengantaran ( Delivering )
Setelah pegepakan selesai pakaian tamu Pengantaran pakaian tamu yang
sudah bersih dilakukan oleh petugas pada sore hari dilengkapi dengan
laundry voucher ( rangkap 3 ) kemudian minta tamu menandatangani
laundry voucher. Bila tamu tidak ada di kamar, serahkan laundry voucher
tersebut pada kasir kantor depan.
49. Hal-hal yang perlu diperhatikan
1. Menjaga kebersihan kolam renang secara berkala
2. Cek kadar kandungan air secara berkala dalam kolam
3. Gantilah air kolam sesuai dengan pemaikan/banyak dikitnya
pengunjung yang datang
4. Membuat sanitasi
