This document summarizes the biblical passage addressing the church in Thyatira. It identifies the Son of God speaking to the church and references their love, faith, service and perseverance. However, it also calls out the church for tolerating the false prophetess Jezebel, who was misleading people into sexual immorality and idolatry. Unless the church repents, those involved will suffer greatly. The message promises authority to those who overcome and remain faithful to Christ.

5. Thyatira:
Assessment: Nevertheless, I have This against you: You
tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By
her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and
the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to
repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her
on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery
with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. I will
strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I
am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of
you according to your deeds.

8. Thyatira:
Exhortation: Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to
you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned
Satans so-called deep secrets, I will not impose any other
burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.
Rest of you- didnt affect everyone
Satans so-called deep secrets - Leads us to believe the
teaching may have been encapsulated as special knowledge
(gnostic) and reserved for those who are mature. Perversion of
Pauls teaching in 1 Cor. 8-10, every person be in subjection to

9. Thyatira:
Promise: To the one who is victorious and does my
will to the end, I will give authority over the nations- that
one will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them
to pieces like pottery - just as I have received authority
from my father I will also give that one the morning star.

11. Thyatira:
Thoughts:
Our deeds matter - vs. 19, vs. 23
Comparison with Ephesus -
First love vs. doing more than you did at first
Judging and discerning vs. love and faith
癌Unloving orthodoxy and loving compromise are both
hateful to God
Ephesians 4:15 is the balance - Instead, speaking the
truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the
mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
