Step 1: How Can we use the Phrase Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to Create a plan for how our school deals with waste? ? We will be able to understand and communicate the purpose of the project based activity.
Step 2: Survey! Collect data about what can and can¡¯t be recycled. ? We will be able to collect and interpret data in our school about the 3¡¯R¡¯s.
Step 3: Energy Check List ? We will be able to explain what types of energy are used at school and ways to reduce uses of energy!
Step 4: How much paper? ? We will be able to make educated predictions about how much paper waste our kindergarten class makes each week.
Week 2 Lessons and Activities ?Waste Pyramid ?Planning our Project (3-D Model) ?Creating Our Project (3-D Model)
Step 5: Waste Pyramid ? We will be able to explain the waste pyramid and different ways students are able to reuse old materials.
Step 6: Planning our Project (3-D Model) ? We will be able to plan our 3-D sketch using reusable materials to make a ¡°Re-used¡± project.
Step 7: Creating Our Project (3-D Model) ? We will be able to create a 3-D model from our sketch.
Week 3 Lessons and Activities ?Plan our Three R¡¯s Poster ?Create our Three R¡¯s Poster ?Planning and creating our commercial ?Presenting our Commercial, Poster, and 3-D model
Step 8: Plan our Three R¡¯s Poster We will be able to cooperate and plan posters to show clear understanding of ways we can reduce, reuse or recycle.
Step 9: Create our Three R¡¯s Poster We will be able to create posters to show clear understanding of ways the students can reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Step 10: Planning and creating our commercial ? We will be able to explain our posters in a ¡°commercial¡± type format to demonstrate our knowledge of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Step 11: Presenting our Commercial, Poster, and 3-D model ? We will present all of our work to the school at the assembly.
