- 1. CALCUTTA BUSINESS SCHOOL DIAMOND HARBOUR ROAD, BISHNUPUR GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER PROJECT REPORT 2015 Every PGDM Student will have to submit one Report to the Organization to which he/she has been assigned the Summer Project and another Report to CBS, both at the end of the study. During the course of the project, there will be a project guide from the organization to which he/she has been assigned. In addition, there will be a faculty guide from CBS during the course of the project. The student is required to keep in touch with the concerned CBS faculty guide at least once in a week on a regular basis (through personal visit at CBS/e-mail/telephone) for reporting developments/progress of work/seeking clarifications and guidance. The project report that shall be submitted to CBS at the end of the summer is equivalent to six credit courses. This will be evaluated by not only the CBS faculty guide but also by some other faculty members for awarding the final grade. The grade will be shown along with grades of Term IV courses. The Project Report should be submitted before the 15th August, 2015. In this connection, every student is reminded of the contents of course on Business Research Methodology. The project report should be submitted in the following format. 1. Executive Summary of the Study & its findings. 2. Statement of the Project/Problem under study. 3. Background and critical analysis of the organization (and its local office) for which the problem is being studied. At the end justify the need for conducting such a study. (where possible and whenever necessary, provide details of the industry, workflow, value chain of activities and functions of the organization/office). 4. The steps followed during the course of the study of the problem. If required, provide hypotheses tested during the course of the study. 5. State the justification for the methodology followed for conducting the study and the infeasibility/inappropriateness of alternative methodology. 6. Describe the data (secondary and/or primary) collected. 7. Provide the analysis of the data collected including the testing of hypotheses. 8. Results of the analysis.
- 2. 9. Provide implementation plan and organization structure for implementation of the results obtained thereof along with an analysis of the possible benefits/costs involved.
