Your application will be adjudicated and you will receive a written answer as quickly as
possible. Please note the following conditions, adjudication criteria and procedures.
Conditions:
1. Funding cannot be combined with other support provided through the Community
Cultural Partnership Program.
2. Support to a single project cannot exceed $1,200 in a given year, nor can it exceed
50% of the project costs.
3. Recognition must be given to the sponsoring organization.
Criteria:
1. We will consider supporting initiatives in any of the following categories:
- creation/production of an artistic work (visual, written, performance, etc.);
- professional development
- dissemination/display of work
2. Modest awards and scholarships may also be provided to organizations such as
schools and music festivals.
3. The objective of support is to help emerging artists in initial projects. Ongoing
projects such as annual events with no substantial change usually do not qualify.
4. The support provided may not be used for capital or equipment costs.
Procedures:
1. An adjudication committee of three to five members will review your application
using the above criteria. If insufficient information is provided, your application
will be set aside until you provide the requested additional information.
2. If you are new to the field, you may not qualify as an emerging artist. If you are a
professional artist (able to rely on your art for the bulk of your income), we
suggest you apply instead to the PEI Council of the Arts, which offers higher
amounts of support.
6 75% of approved funding will be released upon approval of your application. The
remaining 25% will be released upon acceptance of an appropriate written report
of the completed project.
