The presentation discusses two models of economic development: the center-periphery model and the periphery-center model. It provides a quick recap of the center-periphery model, then defines proliferation and how it evolves from the center-periphery model. Examples are given of proliferation in DTE and JSS. Advantages and disadvantages of each model - center-periphery and periphery-center - are discussed using DTE and JSS as examples, before concluding with a comparison and recommendation of the models.
