This document discusses various skin disorders including inflammatory disorders like acne, non-inflammatory disorders like milia and blackheads, hyperpigmentation disorders like melasma that cause darker patches of skin, and hypopigmentation disorders like vitiligo that cause lighter patches of skin. It describes the causes of these conditions such as hormonal changes, sun exposure, aging, and intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Physical signs of aging include wrinkles, loose skin, and discoloration due to biochemical changes in collagen, elastin, and cell turnover.
2. SKIN DISORDER
Any thing which is not in order.
DISORDER DISEASES
Over production/
under production
Deficiency
3. SKIN DISORDER
SEBACOUS GLAND
DISORDER ( Glands
Disorder)
PIGMENTATION
(Melanin Disorder)
AGING
1. INFLAMATORY
DISORDER
Acne
- Papule
- Pustule
- Nodule
- Cyst
1. Hyper Pigmentation
Cholasma
Melasma
Freckles
Solar Lentigens
Post Inflammatory
Hyper pigmentation
Peri -Oral
Peri- orbital
1. Factor
Intrinsic
Extrinsic
2. NON INFLAMATORY
DISORDER
Milia

White heads
2. HYPO

2. Physical Change

3. Bio Chemical

4. INFLAMMATORY DISORDER
Inflammatory word is derived from inflammation
which means any redness, itching, irritation,
swelling, and pain.
For example- Acne
Acne- Due to over activity of sebaceous gland
The pore get clogged and sebum get hardened, also
keratinocytes.
And when bacteria get injected (propionibacterium
acne, P acne) , it cause acne/ zits.
Found on upper back, shoulder, and face.
6. ACNE
1. Papules: Red, painful, raised dome shape, no
opening, swollen, erythematous (above the
surface)
2. Pustules : Red, Large, raised,pointed ,
bumps, with puss (above the surface)
3. Nodules: >1cm Red , flat, painful, hard,
larger lumps (beneath the surface)
4. Cyst: Larger, tender, lump with puss (beneath
the surface)
8. NON INFLAMATORY DISORDER
1. White Comedone: Due to over activity of
sebaceous gland. The pores get clogged and
sebum get hardened, and white porely lump
appears beneath the skin surface is known as
white or close comedones.
2. Black Comedone: Due to over activity of
sebaceous gland. The pores get clogged and
sebum get hardened. And when it comes under
the contact of sunrays and air, it get oxidised
and tip turns black, it is known as comedone or
black head or open comedone.
12. CAUSES/REASONS FOR ACNE
Over cleansing
Heat and Humidity
Hormonal changes
Puberty
Menopause
Menstrual cycle
Greasy work places
Adult acne/scars
Birth control pills
13. CURE
CTM+P regularly
Scrubbing - Once in a week
Pack - Once in a week
Facial/treatment - In every 15 days
14. HYPER PIGMENTATION DISORDER
Hyper means more
Darker patches around than surrounded areas.
Over production of melanin
Examples- Cholasma
- Melasma
- Freckles
- Post Inflammatory Hyper Pigmentation
- Peri-oral
- Peri- Orbital
- Solar Lentigines
- Suntan
- Uneven skin tone
16. CHOLASMA
A temporary condition, typically caused by
hormonal change, in which large brown patch
form on the skin.
17. MELASMA
The mask of pregnancy dark kin discoloration
common in women, especially pregnant women
and those who are taking oral contraceptive pill.
18. PERI-ORBITAL Under eye dark circles.
PERI-ORAL Around the mouth.
20. POST INFLAMMATORY HYPER
PIGMENTATION
Dark mark of any injury.
It is temporary pigmentation that follows injury
e.g. thermal burn or any wound, or any acne
mark.
21. SUNTAN
Suntan is browning of the skin from exposure to
the rays of the sun.
22. UNEVEN SKIN
Irregular darkening of the skin. Over production
of melanin resulting dark patches and spot on
surrounding area of skin.
23. SOLAR LENTIGINES
A small pigmented spot on the skin, also called
age spots, result from exposure of UV RAYS.
24. HYPO PIGMENTATION
Hypo means less.
Light patches than surrounding areas.
Under production of melanin.
Treated only by Dermatologist.
Example : - Vitiligo/Leukoderma
- Albinism
-Post Inflammatory Hyper Pigmentation.
25. VITILIGO
It occur when pigment- producing cells
(melanocytes) die or stop producing melanin.
28. CAUSES/REASONS OF PIGMENTATION
Sun exposure
Pregnancy any contraceptive oral pills
Birth control pills
Hormonal change
Heredity
Aging process of growing older
- Pre mature aging
32. PHYSICAL CHANGE
SURFACE
-Wrinkles/fine lines
- Sagging or loose skin
- Loss of firmness
- Thinner or thickens skin
- Loss of fat
- Rough texture
33. COLOR
- Pigmentation (age spots)
- Uneven tone
- Discoloration
- Duller or lack lustered skin
- Dilated capillaries
34. BIO CHEMICAL CHANGE
Due to aging
- Collagen and elastin disorganize
- Dehydration
- Skin barrier weakness
- Slower cell turnover
- Weak immune system
- Less nutrition supply to cells.
- Less energy delivered to repaired to cell DNA.
35. PHOTOAGING
Photo aging refers to the damage that is done to
the skin from prolonged exposure over a person
lifetime to ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
By sun exposure and flash light.
Smoking also speeds up the photo aging process.
37. 1. What is the example of HYPER-PIGMENTATION?
Pustule
Milia
Black Commedone
Melasma
2. What cause Hyper-Pigmentation?
Excess Melanin
Excess sebum
Vitiligo
Acne
3. Is Alcohol is the reason of Pigmentation?
Yes
No
4. Collagen deformation is the reason of Intrinsic Aging?
Yes
No
