This document summarizes an ethnographic study of Hofstra University's Guitar Club. It describes observations that the club's members have different skill levels, music tastes, and levels of participation. It also notes issues with communication between student leaders and a lack of clarity around how guitar instruction would be provided. Potential solutions include a club communication app to improve organization, allow members to share media and profiles, and foster a stronger sense of community. Mobli and Event Book were identified as potential app platforms to address the club's needs around scheduling, communication and member engagement.

19. Ideation Session
• Unmet Needs: Communication and
Scheduling
• Intended For: Hofstra’s Guitar Club
• Functionality: The app would have a calendar
and an event page so that every member
knows what’s going on. Each member has a
profile and they will be able to share different
types of media with each other.
