1. Franklin Geurts and Vincent van Dam from Vriesendorp & Gaade, the oldest patent and trademark agency in the world established in 1833, gave a presentation on their office and services.
2. They expressed interest in strengthening their relationship with Leiden, particularly the Bio Science Park, by providing consulting services for start-ups and those with ideas.
3. Vincent van Dam then discussed his educational background in biology and biochemistry and research experience in areas such as molecular microbiology and vaccine development against Neisseria meningitidis, in order to demonstrate his expertise in drafting and prosecuting life science-related patent applications.
