TIE UP WITH PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK 13th April 2009 was a historic day for SMC, as SMC entered into a strategic alliance with Punjab National Bank, the largest nationalized bank in India, for offering Online Trading services to PNB customers pan India.
- 4. WHAT IS A STOCK EXCHANGE? Stock exchange is that place where trading of shares is done in terms of sale and purchase.

NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE The national stock exchange of India was promoted by leading financial institution at the order of government of India and was incorporated in November 1992 as a tax paying company. In April 1993,it was recognized as a stock exchange under the securities contract(Regulation) Act, 1956NSE commenced operation in June 1994
- 6. BOMBAY STOCK EXCHANGE The Bombay Stock Exchange is one of the oldest stock exchanges in Asia. It was established as "The Native Share & Stock Brokers Association" in 1875. It is the first stock exchange in the country to obtain permanent recognition in 1956 from the Government of India under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956. About 5,092 listed companies
- 7. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY The study has been undertaken in order to achieve the following objectives: To take an overview of the Indian Stock Market and make a comparative study of BSE & NSE To encapsulate the various investment avenues available.
- 8. SAMPLING DESIGN Sampling unit: The sampling unit of research included students and professionals residing in Delhi NCR region. Sample size: The sample size 50 investors. DATA COLLECTION This research conducted through Primary and Secondary data. The primary data will be collected through: Questionnaire Personal Interview Data Analysis After data collection, I am able to analyze customer views, perception and opinions related to Stock market and from this, SMC Global Securities Ltd. will come to know about the customers requirements.

- 11. LIMITATIONS Due to paucity of time and resources a countrywide survey was not possible. Hence only New Delhi has been taken for the study. Since a smaller sample was chosen so it may not be a true representative of the population under study. The information given by the respondents might be biased because some of them might not be interested to given correct information.. Some of the respondents could not answer the questions due to lack of knowledge.
- 12. FINDINGS OF THE STUDY Following findings were generated from the study:- Investors do not invest in a single avenue. They prefer different avenues and maximum investors prefer to invest in shares, mutual funds. Maximum investors want their investment grow at fast rate. The investment decision of investors is influenced by their own decision and through friends & relatives.

RECOMMENDATIONS Following were the recommendations of the study: The various investment tools which were mostly preferred by the investors were shares, mutual funds etc. So there should be various other means to create awareness regarding the potential of other instruments and the tools which can be more beneficial to the investors. The satisfaction levels of various investors are different due to different investment alternatives they opt for. If they will be aware of each type of alternatives and the worth of the alternatives then investing as per that there satisfaction level will also be high. Investors should have the complete knowledge of stock market.
- 14. CONCLUSION After analyzing all the aspects of Indian Stock Market based on secondary research and a primary research I conclude most of the people prefer to invest in mutual funds and shares. Between NSE and BSE the NSE is considered to be safer on the basis of reward to risk ratio as both give the same returns but risk is comparatively higher in BSE. After doing online trading for 3-4 weeks in the SMC Global Securities Limited I also realized that stock market is highly volatile sometimes the market goes up while sometimes the market goes down this leaving the clients and investors in distrust.
