This document outlines the requirements for two business honor societies - the NY State Business Honor Society (M.B.A.) and the National Business Honor Society (Ph.D.).
The M.B.A. requires 3 business credits with an A- average, participation in a Business Olympics, 1 year of club participation, 10 hours of community service, and upholding the School of Business Code of Conduct.
The Ph.D. has higher requirements - an overall 3.0 GPA, meeting the M.B.A. requirements, 3 additional business credits with an A- average, participation in a second Business Olympics, a second year of club participation, 20 hours of community service, and upholding the

3 Business credits with an A- or better average (B+ for College
Accounting I & II, College Business Law and E-Commerce)
Participation in one Business Olympics
1 Year ACTIVE club participation in DECA or SOBHS (attend a
minimum of 5 SOBHS meetings the school year following your
induction)
10 Hours of community service
5 Hours minimum with the SOBHS + the other 5 hours which can be
completed through DECA or SOBHS
Uphold the School of Business Code of Conduct
All students may apply when requirements are met

( Personal Higher Degree )
Overall GPA of 3.0
Met the M.B.A. requirements
Additional 3 Business credits with an A- or better average ( B+ for
College Accounting I & II, College Business Law & E-Commerce)
Participation in a second Business Olympics
A second year ACTIVE club participation in DECA or SOBHS
(minimum of 8 SOBHS meetings per year once you are inducted
into the NYBHS)
2o Hours of community service (can include 10 hours from the
NYBHS)
10 Hours minimum with the SOBHS + the other 10 hours which can
be completed through DECA or SOBHS
Uphold the School of Business Code of Conduct
