Customs officials in Thailand seized 33 million baht worth of smuggled and pirated goods from a ship in the Gulf of Thailand. The haul included 700 chainsaws worth 10.5 million baht, logs and wood valued at 5.6 million baht, 15,000 liters of diesel fuel worth 3.5 million baht, and 1,154 bottles of spirits and wine worth 2.5 million baht. Officers also found 8,433 imitation items such as perfumes, bags, glasses and branded clothing worth 6.1 million baht. The owner of the goods faces charges under Customs, Forestry and Copyright laws for attempting to smuggle the items ashore.
