The students will work in groups to research and create virtual informational texts on science topics using technology. Each group will create a wiki to collaborate and discuss their work. They will present their projects using Prezi. The teacher will assess the students using a rubric to evaluate the inclusion of necessary elements, use of technology, and group participation. The Responsible Use Plan outlines computer rules for students to take care of themselves, each other, and the technology.

4th grade students will, in groups, create

Science topic.
They will also answer an extension
question that asks them to form an
opinion and support it with research.

They will use technology to research,
collaborate, and create.
Each group will create a wiki where they
can brainstorm, discuss ideas, exchange
resources and their work.
Final presentation will utilize a presentation
website like Prezi.
Finally, groups will teach the class about
their topics using their creations.

The rubric will assess whether the
appropriate and necessary elements
were included in their project and
presentation. It will also assess their use of
technology (appropriateness and
utilization) and their overall participation
within the group.
