Leisure is defined as nonobligatory activities that are intrinsically motivated and done during discretionary time not committed to work, self-care, or sleep. Leisure exploration involves identifying interests, skills, opportunities, and appropriate leisure activities. Leisure participation consists of planning, participating in suitable activities, maintaining a balance with other occupations, and properly using and maintaining any needed equipment or supplies.
