Editor's Notes

  • #11: Encephalitis in neonates is most often caused by HSV-2, which is acquired from the maternal genital tract at the time of delivery. The risk is highest when the mother acquires the infection in the third trimester.
  • #20: Recurrent herpes labialis usually does not require treatment
  • #31: There are kind of two dignosises
  • #32: nfectious mononucleosis (IM), also known as mono, is an infection commonly caused by the Epstein–Barr virus (EBV).[2]Most people are infected by the virus as children, when the disease produces little or no symptoms.[2] In young adults, the disease often results in fever, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and tiredness.[2] Most people get better in two to four weeks; however, feeling tired may last for months.[2] The liver or spleen may also become swollen.[3] In less than one percent of cases splenic rupture may occur.[6]
  • #44: The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone. The dermis, beneath the epidermis, contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands. The deeper subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis) is made of fat and connective tissue.
  • #49: In severe infection both mrsa and streptococci co exist.
  • #55: Sporotrichosis. Chronic lymphocutaneous type—an erythematous papule at the site of inoculation on the index finger with a linear arrangement of erythematous dermal and subcutaneous nodules extending proximally in lymphatic vessels of the dorsum of the hand and arm
