Sound Planning and Management Why to join the community on PCM Exchange approaches and deal with challenges faced by ESF programme and project managers Interact regulary to provide practical problem - solving action learning sets Learn from and with each other Upgrade the specific skills base of key actors of the new ESF
Sound Planning and Management Objectives promote learning and knowledge creation on sound planning and management with special attention to Project Cycle Management; mainstream the lessons learnt from Equal and to embed them in the new SF programmes professionalise ESF programme and project managers across Europe on the use of Sound Planning and Management methods

Sound Planning and Management The Web Environment www.soundplanning.eu Based on the new partecipative ICT tools (web2.0 technology generation) Open source and Open content oriented (reuse of contents) Focused on Blog (but Fora and sycronous tools may be activeted too) Content Classification is based on taxonomy (standard metadata) but also on Folksonomy (Tag Clouds, informal/social classification)
Sound Planning and Management (Some) Community tools Individual space for short communications (posts) concerning the personal knowledge of the web site topic Forum Calendar Weblog Discussion area, organised on a topic base, from each post can start a threath with many comments Agenda of meetings, seminars or other events Document Repository Content catalogue organised on metadata standard model

On line expert User List Presence awareness Availability of a question-asking facility to request and give assistance or information and to receive expert feedback Address book containing information about member area of expertise, their interests/need On line Poll Availability of a system to build an deliver tests, questionnaires, and on line poll
Sound Planning and Management facilitates the interactions within this community e.g. in face-to-face evens, on line meetings and forum Moderetor (s) Steers the agenda of online interactions and ensures good online practices. Promote participation and discussions Facilitator Community roles Knowledge leaders Experts who are net contributors of knowledge into the community; usually different leaders emerge for different subtopics
Sound Planning and Management Community roles The community needs a strong committment and requires staffing roles to support start up and CoP sustainable Technology administration and support COP animation Content development and management
Sound Planning and Management Community Activities are oriented to the individual participation On line discussions and conversations (syncronous and asyncronous) Face to face and on line meetings and events (3 showcasing workshops took place in Bruxelles, Turin, Warsaw) Access to expertise (On line expert, FAQ) Community cultivation (content publishing, animation, workgroup and tutoring) Blended learning on PCM (1 Summer school and 3 on line training editions are foreseen for 20 participants)
Sound Planning and Management Expected Results MAs and designers Aware of good practices, initiatives, documents at national and European level Aware of PCM benefits and of feasibility of effective implementation Able to apply PCM key concepts and tools in ESF programme
