There are two main sources of motivation - intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation comes from within and involves doing an activity for its own sake from curiosity, challenge, or enjoyment. Extrinsic motivation comes from outside rewards like money or grades. While extrinsic motivators can work for simple and boring tasks, intrinsic motivators tend to work better for complex tasks that require creativity, problem-solving, and deep thinking.
