The Spanish educational system has four main stages: pre-primary school for ages 3-5 which is not compulsory; primary school for ages 6-12 which is compulsory; secondary school for ages 12-16 which is also compulsory; and high school for ages 16-18 which is not compulsory. At each stage, students learn core subjects like Spanish, math, sciences, English, art, music, and physical education to prepare them for the next level or university.

- 3. Infantil education It is not compulsory. Children are divided in classes taken into accont their age. They learn to write and to read. They also learn : English Physical games Music Religion approch Art and sciences
- 4. Compulsory : from 6 to 12 years old It is divided into three cicles: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. At the end of the 2nd cicle they have an exam to verify the acedemic level. They learn: Spanish, Maths, Sciencies, Art, English, Music Phisical Education in 25 hours per week.
- 5. Compulsory : from 12 to 16 years old. The students go to the high school. In the 3rd course, they are able to choose between different possibilities. On the 4th course the apply for High school studies or they can apply for formative degrees.
- 6. No complusory It is called: bachillerato. Students can apply for sciences, languages, maths or biology studies, taking into account the university degree they want to do. At the end of the 2nd year, they must pass a official exam, to get in the University.
