#5: This mapping suggests that the Anglo-American system ( A-type ) and East Asian system ( K-type ) are polar opposites. Korea and Taiwan share a large power distance and strong collectivist or personalist culture combined with high opacity. The Anglo-American system is distinguished by low power distance and high individualism, coupled with relatively high transparency. The East Asian cases have many of the characteristics of patrimonial office, while the Anglo-American cases are closer to the ideal market or procedural democracy . Singapore is an exception among the East Asian cases. It shares the high power distance and strong collectivism of other Asian countries but also shows exceptional transparency.

This type of dense connection shows strength and redundancy which is good for the feeling of belonging. Type B shows more entrepreneurial network. It has lower density, but the ego occupies a strategic position which enables a lot of leverage and mediation for the whole networks. All kinds of brokers belong to type.
