Корневая система Сильно разветвленная, с большим числом придаточных корней,
расположена в верхних слоях почвы горизонтально. Длина корневой
системы достигает 30 м от материнского растения.
Стебель Многочисленные, прямые.
Кора Кора побегов светло-желтого цвета, с густо усаженными многочисленными
тонкими загнутыми вниз шипами.
Листья Листья длинночерешковые, пятипальчатораздельные, листочки
обратноовальные, сверху голые или со щетинками, снизу по жилкам с
рыжеватым опушением, края остродвоякозубчатые.
Цветки Цветки мелкие, на длинных тонких цветоножках, собранные в сферические
зонтичные соцветия. Растение имеет цветки различных типов — как
обоеполые, так и функционально женские и мужские. Двуполые и
тычиночные цветки фиолетовые, а пестичные — бледно-желтые.
Плод Плод — ягодовидная костянка. По форме плоды округлые, длиной 7–10 см,
блестящие, с пятью сплюснутыми косточками в форме полумесяца, в
зрелом виде черные.

Элеутерококк колючий распространен
на Дальнем Востоке, в Приморском и
Хабаровском краях, Амурской
области и на Южном Сахалине.
Растет в Северо-Восточном Китае,
Северной Корее и Японии.

С лечебной целью в
качестве лекарственного
сырьяприменяют корневище и
корень элеутерококка колючего

Экстракт элеутерококка повышает
