ANSI is a short form used to describe the American National Institute Pump Standard. This
standard evolved from the American Voluntary Standard (AVS) that was first anticipated by the
Manufacturing Chemists Association in the year1950. It is a set of inch dimensional standards
that describe the envelope dimensions of a back pull out, of centrifugal pump.
The centrifugal pump which is designed to ANSI B73.1 standards is known as ANSI pump.
This pump features a vertical center line discharge, foot mounted casing to cover and frame
bolted with quick release bolt lugs to facilitate back pull out disassembly without any disruption
to sustain or to the discharge piping. The choice is giving by manufacturer with open impellers
for the handling of solids, or enclosed impellers for increased pumps efficiency. The ANSI
pumps generally are packed or mechanically sealed and are designed for low NPSHr
characteristics and relatively low radial thrust.
However, ANSI pump standard has gone through several changes. It was originally adopted and
there is lots of talk about combining it with the present API standard to create a single standard
for centrifugal pumps in the United States.
And , If want to purchase then you can contact Ruhrpumpen a worldwide pumping
manufactured CPP line pump is designed to meet and exceed the ANSI standard B73.1
specification. , They are designed around a single, basic hydraulic and mechanical design which
totally assures the greatest efficiencies across the broad ability to handle any operating
conditions, maximum application flexibility and very wide and superior interchangeability.
