Rishilpi Development Project organized emergency medical camps in Beradanga and Shally villages to provide treatment to flood victims suffering from waterborne illnesses. Over 150 families were living in temporary shelters at Beradanga WAPDA dam with no income. The medical camps treated patients for dysentery, diarrhea, pneumonia, fever and other skin diseases. An emergency medical camp was organized on October 2, 2011 in Harinkhola village, Tala Upazilla, Satkhira district to provide treatment to people affected by flooding. Over two months, a destitute woman had been living in waterlogged housing and suffering physical complications without means to regularly pay for medicine. The camp provided medicines to her and many other old widows. It treated diseases like dysentery, diarrhea, pneumonia and fever that were prevalent among flood victims. The REacH study evaluated two models of enhanced HIV and FP service linkage and integration in Zambia compared to standard services. Lugeye dispensary is providing the best example of using the community involvement in Quality Improvement. The Dispensary used the village meetings in distributed responsibilities for 10 sub-villages of Lugeye ward on fundraising required for construction of the modern dispensary with admission wards.
In 2006 the dispensary renovated male ward, In 2009 female ward and PMTCT and OPD, 2014 paediatric ward, In 2014 x-ray room and 9 more staffs recruited through Magu Council strategy, AMREF and community contributions. From 2012 to 2014 a total of 8 new health care workers have been enrolled after setting targets for quality health care delivery by the council. The President of United Republic of Tanzania awarded an ambulance in January 2014.
This environment has made the dispensary the unique role model for quality Improvement.
