? English is an international language.
? English is the means of communication globaly.
? English is a vital tool for students to become
successful in local, national and International
communication.
General objectives
General objectives of teaching English are to enable students to:
? Communicate fluently and accurately with other English
speakers
? Develop competence in understanding a variety of reading
texts
? Gain the skills necessary to write appropriate and effective
English
? Learn the basics of the English language that would form
the foundation for its mastery in the future.
? Use the basic structures of English sentences.
? Listen and understand simple English language.
? Express themselves orally using simple English language.
Specific Objective:
After learning this chapter students will be able to learn:
? What are stars and planets.
? Name of planets.
? The difference between stars and planets.
3. STAR:
The stars are a burning matter of gasses and have their own light like fire
balls. Stars twinkle at night.Sun is also a star.
PLANET:
A celestial body moving in an elliptical orbit around a star.
Some planets are very hot and some are very cold. These are Mercury,
Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Our earth is also a
planet.
