way to predict the future is to create it.
What we do
We gather around food, drinks and a question to
spark ideas on how to make startups succeed
(more often) in our ecosystem.
We don't keep the conversations to ourselves: we share
it with the world to a) represent us out there and b) to
inspire others with our ideas and initiatives

We host quarterly private dinners for a selected and
exciting group of people.
We host thought-through experiences that make
people disconnect from their office to connect
with each other and our shared purpose.
Why we do it
Or because we believe a community of community
builders can only make the world a better place.

We want the leaders of ecosystem development
to collaborate for a better future.

Abundance-minded
The joy of seeing others succeed. We enjoy and relish
in others success, for which we share information and
facilitate connections. We believe there's enough room
for everyone to succeed. The world is our playground.
We care about every startup ecosystem.
Founders-Driven
Every move we make, every step we take is to help
startups. Ecosystems must be driven by and for
entrepreneurs. And were data driven: ecosystem
development can be a fuzzy business, we take it
seriously, we take no bullsh*t.
Add Value First
We're here to enhance, not repeat: our efforts in
listening and collecting relevant data allow us to
identify the areas that need improving, instead of
reinventing the wheel. We aim to add value, not repeat
or compete with whats already going well.
Constant Listening
We focus on getting things and love being helpful,
above it all - even recognition. Mostly, we believe
humbleness emerges from true confidence. We care to
listen first, so we stay relevant and become able to help
exactly where it's needed.
We Like Each Other
As Startup Grind well put it, Make Friends > Contacts.
We believe that authentic connections are the best way
to build long lasting relationships where everyone feels
willing and comfortable to share information and
resources. We believe in making true friends.
CONCEPT
Startup Agora (community dinner series by Startup Genome))
SETUP
Casual, yet exclusive.
Every detail should help taking people to an
"out of office" mindset. The ambience, lights, music,
noise levels, privacy, type of food and beverages, sitting
layout... Everything should be kept simple, yes done on
purpose to resemble a special friends gathering.
FREQUENCY
Quarterly.
Cadence matter because it enhances the chances of
successful collisions. Even though the idea is to rotate
the guests in the list (by at least at 2/3), by keeping a
specific cadence you'll make it a lighthouse, a regular
meeting place where relevant discussions are held.
GUEST LIST
Topic driven.
Every encounter should be driven by a topic and guests
should feel like they are invited because their views,
experience or position are relevant to the ecosystem.
The table have represented a healthy mix of founders,
investors, policymakers and community builders.

This series of dinners aims to be hosted at 30+
ecosystems around the world as a grassroots initiative,
powered by Startup Genome brand and networks, yet a
living community on its own. Guests should contribute
a "covering-costs" fee. Sponsors are welcome.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Global network, brand and knowledge platform.
As we said, when doing something (every quarter) in
30+ ecosystems around the world we can't afford to
reinvent the wheel - we will support the basic platform
for you to invite and host guests, besides knowledge
and advice from our HQ and global peers.

This presentation is aimed at people who are invited/selected as Startup Genome Ambassadors as an exclusive community building initiative to build a cozier global startup ecosystem.   • 3. Who we are Ecosystem Developers Startup Founders and Executives Corporate Hackers and Leaders Community Builders Policymakers Investors etc. Economic development junkies. People who get the idea of giving > taking. We believe the best way to predict the future is to create it.
  • 4. What we do We gather around food, drinks and a question to spark ideas on how to make startups succeed (more often) in our ecosystem. We don't keep the conversations to ourselves: we share it with the world to a) represent us out there and b) to inspire others with our ideas and initiatives #welovesharing
  • 5. How we do it We host quarterly private dinners for a selected and exciting group of people. We host thought-through experiences that make people disconnect from their office to connect with each other and our shared purpose.
  • 6. Why we do it Or because we believe a community of community builders can only make the world a better place. Great conversations can spark great initiatives. We want the leaders of ecosystem development to collaborate for a better future.
  • 8. Abundance-minded The joy of seeing others succeed. We enjoy and relish in others success, for which we share information and facilitate connections. We believe there's enough room for everyone to succeed. The world is our playground. We care about every startup ecosystem.
  • 9. Founders-Driven Every move we make, every step we take is to help startups. Ecosystems must be driven by and for entrepreneurs. And were data driven: ecosystem development can be a fuzzy business, we take it seriously, we take no bullsh*t.
  • 10. Add Value First We're here to enhance, not repeat: our efforts in listening and collecting relevant data allow us to identify the areas that need improving, instead of reinventing the wheel. We aim to add value, not repeat or compete with whats already going well.
  • 11. Constant Listening We focus on getting things and love being helpful, above it all - even recognition. Mostly, we believe humbleness emerges from true confidence. We care to listen first, so we stay relevant and become able to help exactly where it's needed.
  • 12. We Like Each Other As Startup Grind well put it, Make Friends > Contacts. We believe that authentic connections are the best way to build long lasting relationships where everyone feels willing and comfortable to share information and resources. We believe in making true friends.
  • 15. SETUP Casual, yet exclusive. Every detail should help taking people to an "out of office" mindset. The ambience, lights, music, noise levels, privacy, type of food and beverages, sitting layout... Everything should be kept simple, yes done on purpose to resemble a special friends gathering.
  • 16. FREQUENCY Quarterly. Cadence matter because it enhances the chances of successful collisions. Even though the idea is to rotate the guests in the list (by at least at 2/3), by keeping a specific cadence you'll make it a lighthouse, a regular meeting place where relevant discussions are held.
  • 17. GUEST LIST Topic driven. Every encounter should be driven by a topic and guests should feel like they are invited because their views, experience or position are relevant to the ecosystem. The table have represented a healthy mix of founders, investors, policymakers and community builders.

  • 19. MODEL Non-profit, community driven. This series of dinners aims to be hosted at 30+ ecosystems around the world as a grassroots initiative, powered by Startup Genome brand and networks, yet a living community on its own. Guests should contribute a "covering-costs" fee. Sponsors are welcome.
  • 20. COMMUNITY SUPPORT Global network, brand and knowledge platform. As we said, when doing something (every quarter) in 30+ ecosystems around the world we can't afford to reinvent the wheel - we will support the basic platform for you to invite and host guests, besides knowledge and advice from our HQ and global peers.
