DONATE TO THE GEORGIA NATIONAL GUARD FAMILY SUPPORT FOUNDATION WHEN YOU FILE YOUR INCOME TAX RETURN FOR 2010! Georgia taxpayers have the opportunity to make donations to the GEORGIA NATIONAL GUARD FAMILY SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, when they file their taxes again this year! Referred to as a simple check-off box on the Georgia income tax return, the tax- deductible donation was added to the Georgia state income tax forms by the Legislature in 2005 as a show of support for the Georgia National Guard. The Foundation received: $ 107,559.00 for tax year 2005 returns; $ 114,195.00 for tax year 2006 returns; $ 104,038.00 for tax year 2007 returns; $ 80,777.00 for tax year 2008 returns; AND $ 102,389.00 for tax year 2009 returns! Total of: $ 508,958.00 to date! Reportedly 98% of these contributions were from $1.00 donations! The Family Support Foundation provides emergency relief assistance to members and families of the GEORGIA NATIONAL GUARD and other qualified members of the Georgia Department of Defense. As a result of these contributions and others, the Foundation has provided over $ 1,308,380.00 in financial assistance to almost 1,500 families throughout the State of Georgia as of mid-October 2010. PLEASE PICK AN AMOUNT AND MAKE IT COUNT WHEN YOU FILE YOUR TAXES for 2010! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! The Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. is an independent non-profit educational and charitable foundation (501)(c)(3) which exists for the sole purpose of providing support to members and families of the Georgia National Guard, and other qualified military Active Duty or Reserve members based in Georgia.
