- 2. Touch down Nictiz showed us, standard-based, services that consider different level of care (GP, Pharmacies, hospital) and take in account technical standard as well as policy standard. Experiences of the Swiss Confederation tell us how to move from a document-based system to a data-based system that takes into account modern devices. And we've seen with Ken Rubin that Data, Knowledge, and Process must be considered as a whole to have real, meaningful digital health services.
- 3. Beyond I think what we've seen gives us an understanding of the work that we would need to do. A very relevant job has been done despite limited resources. However, the pandemic makes evident that a truly functional EHR (FSE in Italian) is not just a document repository. We need to evolve, and we need to evolve quickly. If we want to have an EHR (i.e. clinical information) usable during a pandemic as well as during normal healthcare activities, we need a new level of services.
- 4. Next Generation The European stimulus plan (Next Generation EU), and in general the current landscape, can be an unprecedented opportunity to reconsider healthcare. The relevance of a working health system is surely clear now. It's a long road that we must cover quickly An effective integration between community medicine, hospitals, and public health will not happen magically.
