This document provides a 25 step checklist for using Academia.edu to build backlinks to a website through profile and content creation on the platform. The checklist instructs the user to sign up and set up a profile on Academia.edu, add research interests and websites related to their target keyword, and then ping and submit the profile page and sections to link indexing services to generate backlinks.

Stephen Pierce Instant Traffic Cheat Sheet #2 The .Edu Backlinking Machine # Done Activity 1 Go sign up at http://www.academia.edu/signup 2 Enter “First Name” 3 Enter “Last Name” 4 Enter “Email” 5 Enter “Password” 6 Select “Independent Researcher” 7 Begin typing in the “Research Area” and see suggestions 8 Select a topic for the “Research Area” (use your targeted keyword if possible) 9 Click “Sign Up” 10 “Add Research Interest” by typing in keywords and look at suggestions 11 When done, click “Save and Continue” 12 Check for Facebook friends that are already on Academia. 13 When done, click “Save and Continue” 14 Next, you can check for friends via email. Complete this step or click “Skip this Step” 15 Search for articles related to your interest or click “Skip this Step” 16 Click on the name of your blog in the upper right corner. 17 Next, click on “Add Websites” in the bottom left corner. 18 Add a website. Name = Target Keyword and URL = Target URL 19 Click “Add another website” and repeat step #18 above two more times. 20 When done, click “Save” Copy your url (exp: http://independent.academia.edu/StephenPierce/Websites 21 http://independent.academia.edu/YOURNAME/Websites) 22 Go to www.Pingler.com 23 Ping your Academia url with the website listings 24 Add books (exp: http://independent.academia.edu/StephenPierce/Books) 25 Ping books page at www.Pingler.com when completed.
