Angels Rescue Lot
That evening two angels came to the city of Sodom. Lot was sitting near the city gates and saw them.
He got up and went to them. He bowed to show respect.
The angels said to Lot, “We are going to destroy this city. The LORD heard how evil this city is, so he sent
us to destroy it.” When Lot did not move fast enough, the two men grabbed his hand. They also took the
hands of his wife and his two daughters. The two men led Lot and his family safely out of the city.
Due angeli salvano Lot
Due angeli giunsero a Sodoma, verso
sera. Lot stava seduto alla porta di
quella città. Appena li vide si alzò per
andar loro incontro.
I due uomini dissero a Lot: 'Il Signore
ci ha mandato per distruggere questo
luogo, perché tremenda è la protesta
salita fino a lui contro i suoi abitanti.
Perciò fa' uscire di qui i tuoi famiglia’.
Lot era ancora indeciso, ma poiché il
Signore voleva risparmiarlo, quegli
uomini presero per mano lui, sua moglie
e le due figlie, li fecero uscire e li
lasciarono fuori della città.

Jacob’s Dream
Jacob had a dream. He dreamed there was a ladder that was on the ground and reached up into
heaven. He saw the angels of God going up and down the ladder. And then Jacob saw the LORD standing
by the ladder. He said, “I am with you, and I will protect you everywhere you go.
Il sogno di Giacobbe
Giacobbe fece un sogno:
una scala poggiava a
terra e la sua cima
raggiungeva il cielo; su di
essa salivano e
scendevano angeli di Dio.

Balaam and the Angel
Balak, who was king of Moab at that time, sent messengers to summon Balaam. God said to Balaam,
“Do not go with them,” but Balaam went with the Moabite officials. God was very angry when he went,
and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him. The angel stood in a narrow place where
there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left.

Balak, re di Moab, mandò
messaggeri a Balaam per
chiamarlo. Dio disse a Balaam: -
Non andrai con loro. Ma il
mattino seguente, Balaam sellò
la propria asina e partì con i
capi Moabiti.

When the donkey saw the angel of the
Lord, it lay down under Balaam, and he was
angry and beat it with his staff. Then the Lord
opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to
Balaam, “What have I done to you to make
you beat me these three times?”
Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and
he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the
road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low
and fell facedown.
L'asina vide l'angelo: si strinse contro il
muretto e schiacciò il piede di Balaam e
Balaam la frustò.
Il Signore diede all'asina la capacità di
parlare ed essa disse a Balaam:
- Che cosa ti ho fatto? È già la terza volta che
mi batti!
In quell'istante il Signore aprì gli occhi a
Balaam, ed egli vide l'angelo con la spada in
mano fermo in mezzo alla strada. Allora si
inchinò e si gettò con la faccia a terra.

Elisha’s Secret Army
When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, “We will
mobilize our forces at such and such a place.” But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the
king of Israel.
The king of Aram became very upset over this. He called his officers together and demanded, “Go and
find out where Elisha is, so I can send troops to seize him.” The report came back: “Elisha is at Dothan.”
So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city.
L'esercito segreto di Eliseo
Il re di Aram era in guerra con Israele.
Riunì i suoi ufficiali e indicò loro dove
voleva porre l'accampamento. Il profeta
Eliseo, però, mandò a dire al re d'Israele:
- Fa' attenzione! Non passare in quella
zona perché gli Aramei scenderanno di
là.
Il re di Aram si irritò moltissimo pei
questa situazione. Convocò i suoi ufficiali
chiese loro: - Scoprite dove Eliseo si
trova. Lo farò catturare. Quando il re
venne a sapere che Eliseo si trovava nella
città di Dotan, mandò là un forte gruppo
di soldati, con carri e cavalli. Arrivarono
di notte e accerchiarono la città.

Elisha’s servant got up early that morning. When he went outside, he saw an army with horses and
chariots all around the city. The servant said to Elisha, “Oh, my master, what can we do?”
Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. The army that fights for us is larger than the army that fights for Aram.”
Then Elisha prayed and said, “LORD, I ask you, open my servant’s eyes so that he can see.” The LORD
opened the eyes of the young man, and the servant saw the mountain was full of horses and chariots of
fire. They were all around Elisha.
La mattina il servo del profeta
Eliseo si alzò uscì, vide soldati, carri
e cavalli che circonda vano la città e
gridò a Eliseo: - È spaventoso,
maestro! Che cosa possiamo fare? -
Non aver paura, - gli rispose
Eliseo, - nostri difensori sono più
numerosi dei loro! Poi si mise a
pregare: 'Signore, apri gli occhi a
quest'uomo, fa' che possa vedere'. Il
Signore aprì gli occhi al servo, e lui
fu in grado di vedere: le montagne
erano piene di carri e cavalli di
fuoco, tutt'intorno a Eliseo.

Daniel in the Lion’s Den
When the Medes overthrew the Babylonians, Daniel became a senior administrator during the reign
of King Darius. However, Daniel's fellow governors became jealous and plotted against him. They
persuaded Darius to decree restrictions on prayer and worship, under penalty of death, but Daniel's well-
known devotion to his God compelled him to ignore the decree.

babilonesi, Daniele divenne
un amministratore durante il
regno di Dario. Ma gli altri

When Daniel was thrown into a den of hungry lions, The king said to him, “May your God, whom
you serve so faithfully, rescue you.”
Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions’ den. When he got there,
he called out, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to
rescue you from the lions?”
Daniel answered, “Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they
would not hurt me.”
The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on
him, for he had trusted in his God.
Per ordine del re, Daniele fu preso e gettato nella fossa dei leoni. Il re gli disse: «Solo il tuo Dio che tu
servi con tanto amore può salvarti!».
Il mattino dopo, il re si alzò e andò in
fretta alla fossa dei leoni. Si avvicinò e
chiamò Daniele con voce triste: — Daniele,
servo del Dio vivente, il tuo Dio che servi con
amore ti ha liberato dagli artigli dei leoni?
Daniele gli rispose: — Sì, il mio Dio ha
mandato il suo angelo a chiudere le fauci dei
leoni ed essi non mi hanno fatto alcun male!
Pieno di gioia, il re diede ordine di tirare
fuori Daniele dalla fossa. Appena fuori, si
poté notare che egli non aveva nessuna
ferita, perché aveva avuto fiducia nel suo
Dio.

Daniel’s Vision
Daniel had been fasting for three weeks when an angelic messenger appeared to him. The angel said,
“Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray, your request has been heard in heaven. I
have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia
blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the
spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. Now I am here to explain what will happen to your
people in the future.”
La visione di Daniel
Daniele aveva digiunato per tre settimane, quando
gli apparve un messaggero celeste. Egli disse: 'Non
temere, Daniele! Dal primo giorno la tua preghiera
è stata esaudita e io sono venuto a portarti la

An Angel Visits Mary and Joseph
God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to
be married to a man named Joseph. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Don’t be afraid, Mary. You will give
birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most
High.
After this, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Joseph,” the angel said, “do not be
afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.” When Joseph
woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded.
Annunzio della nascita di Gesù
Dio mandò l'angelo Gabriele a Nàzaret, un
villaggio della Galilea. L'angelo andò da una
fanciulla chiamava Maria, che era fidanzata con un
certo Giuseppe. L'angelo entrò in casa e le disse: -
Non temere, Maria! Avrai un figlio, lo darai alla luce
e gli metterai nome Gesù. Egli sarà grande e sarà
chiamato Figlio dell'Altissimo.
Un angelo del Signore apparve a Giuseppe in
sogno e gli disse: 'Giuseppe, non devi aver paura di
sposare Maria: il bambino che lei aspetta è opera
dello Spirito Santo. Quando Giuseppe si svegliò, fece
come l'angelo di Dio gli aveva ordinato e prese
Maria in casa sua.

Peter’s Miraculous Escape from Prison
King Herod imprisoned Peter, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers
each. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of
the Lord stood before Peter. The angel said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. “Now
put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.
Pietro liberato dal carcere
Erode ordinò l'arresto di Pietro e lo gettò in prigione. Comandò a quattro squadre di quattro soldati
ciascuna di sorvegliare il
prigioniero. Ma la chiesa pregava
intensamente Dio per lui.
La notte prima del processo, si
presentò un angelo del Signore.
L'angelo toccò Pietro, lo svegliò e
gli disse: 'Svelto, àlzati!'. E subito le
catene, caddero dai polsi di Pietro.
Poi l'angelo continuò: 'Ora prendi il
tuo mantello e vieni con me'.

So Peter left the cell, following the angel. They passed the first and second guard posts and came to
the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through and
started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.
