Fun Reading Activity
Once upon a time, there was a fox
Who lived in a mushroom so small
He would sneak out for midnight snacks
And often go for a stroll
He'd scamper and play in the meadow all
day
And frolic from sun till night
But when the stars came out to play
He'd scamper back to his home so bright
He'd curl up on the softest moss
And dream of the world outside
Until morning when it was time to toss
And explore the countryside
The dolphin and the whale,
played in the sea,
where they could swim so
happily.
The dolphin so swift,
and the whale so big,
they both seemed to have
a jig.
The dolphin so fast,
the whale so slow,
the two had a fun show.
The dolphin so playful,
the whale so wise,
together they watched the
sunrise.
Snow King and Queen, so fair and
so grand,
The land of snow is where they
stand.
The snowflakes fall from the sky so
blue,
Making a blanket of white for them
to view.
The King and Queen, so beautiful
and bright,
Whisper a secret in the night.
The stars above sparkle and shine,
Saying, "you will always be mine"
The King and Queen, with light in
their eyes,
Watch the world from their wintery
skies.
Their love is as strong as a
wintery breeze,
One little girl, her eyes so bright
Laughed and giggled with all her
might
Tied her shoes and ran off to
play
The other girls followed along her
way
Six little girls so sweet and fair
Playing in the garden with such
care
Blowing dandelion seeds in the air
Playing, skipping, and jumping with
such flair
Six little girls, they walk away
Arm in arm, they walk and play
They continue to dance and sing
Happy and content, their day would
bring
"Oh, wise old owl, what can you tell
me?
What secret is hidden in life's journey?"
The wise old owl just blinked his eyes
And said, "Learn to take time to be
wise."
Old robin thought of this with care
And said, "I'll remember what you said
and bear."
Old robin with scarf so red,
Sitting upon a branch so high,
Saw a wise old owl and said,
He flew away on the wind so fair
Not a worry on his mind, his wings
declare.
A deer so fine and tall,
Stood in the meadow one day.
With a rabbit and a squirrel
Riding on his back they say
The deer let out a proud neigh,
As the trio set off to play.
The rabbit and squirrel so small,
Rode the deer so far away.
The sun set in the sky so high,
As the deer led them home at
night.
The rabbit and the squirrel so
small,
He carried with all his might.
A ballerina and a danseur,
Beneath the bright lights they
soar.
Their graceful moves are like a
dream,
A vision seen and adored.
The ballerina and danseur,
A sight to behold and keep
,A dance of beauty and grace,
A love that will never sleep.
The twirls and turns of their
dance
Take us away to a place,
Where beauty and strength
harmonize,
The music sets their pace.
Oh the fisherman in the yellow
raincoat
He sails out in the morning light
To find and catch the fish that
he loves so
And make his dinner that night
The lake and sea are his
playgrounds
Where he sets out every day
His yellow coat keeps him warm and
dry
As he casts his nets this way
Through the mist and fog he sails
A peaceful calm is in the air
He knows he'll catch himself a
treat
As he's a fisherman with flair!
